Valeriya is a Russian qualified lawyer who was in charge of the largest international arbitration and litigation projects in the region before moving to the UK to continue gaining experience in English litigation and arbitration.

Valeriya specialises in state court litigation, international commercial, investor-state, as well as inter-state disputes initiated under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

She represents individual clients and sovereign states in various investor-state arbitration fora including ICSID and PCA. In addition, Valeriya is actively involved  as a counsel in commercial arbitrations under major institutional rules including LCIA, ICC, SCC and ICAC (Moscow). Furthermore, she represents both states and individuals in the European Court of Human Rights.

She graduated (with honours) from the Higher School of Economics (Moscow). She obtained her master degrees (with honours) from the Higher School of Economics (Moscow) and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She obtained her LL.M degree (first class) from King’s College (London).

She participated (as a competitor and coach) in major international moot court competitions including Willem C. Vis and FDI Moot.
